Alta Galloway, 87, passed away Wednesday, March 1, 2023 in Weatherford surrounded by loving family and friends.
Visitation: 6 – 8 p.m. Sunday, March 5, 2023 in White’s Chapel of Memories, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford.
Funeral Service: 1 p.m. Monday, March 6, 2023 in White’s Chapel of Memories.
Interment: Memory Gardens of the Valley, 5600 Mineral Wells Hwy., Weatherford.
Alta was born July 4, 1935 in Parker County, daughter of Samuel P. and Carra (Fife) Sager. She met the love of her life, Joel Richard Galloway, and they were married on February 7, 1953. They would go on to spend 70 happy years together. Alta devoted her life to raising her family and caring for her husband.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Quincy L. Sager.
She is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Joel Richard “J. R.” Galloway; sons, Basil K. Galloway, and Joel Patrick Galloway; grandchildren, Jason K. Galloway (Melissa), and Bradley K. Galloway (Susan); great-grandchildren, Emily, Ean, Kenton, and Kaleb Galloway, and Kalie Jones; sisters, Jewel Richards, and Joy Sager Gober; brother, Preston L. Sager; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other extended family members and friends.
Alta was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, and she will be missed by all who knew her.
