Weatherford - Evelyn “Fern” Jones, 88, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend, passed away Tuesday, February 14, 2017.Service: 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 20, 2017 at Brock United Methodist Church, 127 Lazy Bend Road, Brock Texas, 76087. Interment: Brock Cemetery. Visitation: 2:00-4:00 p.m. Sunday at White’s Funeral Home, 130 Houston, Ave., Weatherford, Texas, 76086.Memorials: Donations to Brock United Methodist Church, 127 Lazy Bend Road, Brock, Texas, 76087.Fern was born September 5, 1928 to the late George and Ada May Jones. She grew up in Brock and graduated from Brock High School, and was a lifelong supporter of the Brock Eagles. She attended Texas Tech University. Fern married the love of her life, Joseph R. “Joe” Jones . Together they raised two beautiful children who they enjoyed making wonderful memories with. Fern supported her husband in many business endeavors, and eventually became a financial officer for the federal government. After retirement Fern enjoyed dedicating her time to work at JRJ Construction, the family business, with both her husband and children.Fern had a strong faith and relationship with God. She was a longtime member of Brock United Methodist Church where she loved working tirelessly with dear friends and family to support and grow the Church. She was an amazing cook and her pies and cakes were in constant supply at church and community functions. Fern never met a stranger and was truly the epitome of a selfless servant. Her love and dedication to those she loved will be forever appreciated. To know Fern was to love her. She will be greatly missed by many.Fern was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph R. “Joe” Jones; her son, Joe Randolph “Randy” Jones; and her son-in-law, David E. Brown.Survivors: daughter, Melody J. Brown; daughter-in-law, Alice D. Jones; grandchildren, Mende Brown Feriend and husband, Adam, Dustin Brown, Jordan Jones and wife, Katherine, and Jerika Jones and fiancée, Harry Hatch, III; great-grandchildren, Adison, Asher, Easton, Ace, Adia, Jackson, and Sophie; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and church family and friends.
