Yvonne Sowder

Yvonne Sowder, 66, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away December 20, 2022, in Decatur, TX. Graveside Service: 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at Springtown Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at White’s Funeral Home Chapel in Springtown. Yvonne was born February 14, 1956, in Phoenix, Arizona to Delwyen Leon Lewis and Betty Mae Lindsey Lewis. She was married to Donald Carl Sowder on March 25, 2007,but the two of them have been together for 39 years. Yvonne was the most caring and loving person. She has never met a stranger. She lived for her children and grandchildren and she gave all of her “loves” nicknames. Everyone that knew her knew she had her own “Meme” language. “Meme’s” ice water was magical. If her cup was around, one of her kids or grandkids were going to take it.She worked at Mainstream for many years and she loved everyone there, and “Devorn” was loved by Mainstream. The world has never known a more kind soul or anyone with a bigger heart. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Ricky Don Lewis and Rodrick Dale Lewis. Yvonne is survived by her husband, Donald Carl Sowder; her children, Cory Robert Benton and wife Amanda LeAnne, Brian Dale Don Benton, Christi Dawn Friese; and her sister, Theresa Patterson; her grandchildren, Amber Rose Benton, Dylan McConnell, Recheal Elizabeth Yvonne Benton, Nicholas Benton, Julie Bell Benton, Holly Anne Benton, Mae Yvonne Friese, James William Friese, Logan Christopher Friese, and her great-grandson, Andrew James Shearon.
