With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Wynell "Nell" Cobb, 86, of Mineral Wells, Texas, who departed this world to be with her lord on Tuesday, November 28, 2023. Nell was born on September 6, 1937, in Brady, Texas. She and her three siblings were raised on a farm in nearby Salt Gap, and she was a proud “country girl.” She worshiped at the local Baptist church where her father was a deacon, and mother was a teacher. She was a firm believer in Jesus Christ, and was baptized at the age of 12. She graduated from Melvin High School in 1956, and shortly thereafter she began a new chapter of her life in Dallas, Texas. On August 9, 1957, she married Bobby Ray Cobb, and their love story spanned an impressive 66 years. Nell poured her love for cosmetics and all things beauty into her career as an Avon saleswoman. She was a woman of diverse interests and hobbies, finding joy in music, dancing, reading, games, gardening, shopping, painting, and caring for her beloved animals. A giver by nature, Nell treasured gift-giving to her family and friends, making Christmas her favorite time of the year. Her spirit lives on in her husband Bobby Ray Cobb; son Ricky Dale Cobb; daughters Vicky Dianna Weiss, Sherrie Darlene Driver, and Tiffany Raynell O’Connor. Her memory will also be cherished by those who had the privilege of calling her “Granny”, granddaughters Mysti Dawn Baker and Ashley Anne Ferguson; and grandson Dillon Cole Driver. Nell’s ever-growing legacy of love extends great-grandsons Austin Blake Walter, Michael John III, and McCoy Colton O’Connor, Easton Cole, and Colson Lane Ferguson; great-granddaughters Calla LeeAnne Ferguson, MacKenzie “KiKi” Ranell, and Marleigh Ann O’Connor, Ellie Peyton, and Mila Grace Jennings; and great-great granddaughter Wrenlee Danielle Walter. She is also survived by her brother Odis Leon Waldrep, and sister Patsy Lou Stephens. Nell is predeceased by her loving parents, father Odis Colton Waldrep and mother Alma Lou Waldrep; and brother Charles Donald Waldrep. In memory of Nell, may we all strive to be as generous, kind, and loving as she was throughout her incredibly fulfilling life. Her story will be retold, and her life celebrated in the hearts of all those she touched. The funeral service to honor Nell's life will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at White’s Funeral Home (101 NE 4th Avenue, Mineral Wells, Texas 76067). The viewing will begin one hour prior.
