Wilma Faye Jewett

Wilma Faye Jewett, 94, passed away Monday, April 27, 2026 in Weatherford.

Visitation: 1 p.m. Monday, May 4, 2026 in White’s Chapel of Memories, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford, with the Funeral Service beginning at 2 p.m.

Interment: East Greenwood Cemetery, 500 E. Front St., Weatherford.

Wilma personally left these notes for everyone about her life:

I was born at Rule, Texas January 4, 1932. Dad turned 50 on January 3rd. He was in World War 1.

He was a share cropper in West, Texas and then we moved to Olusta, Oklahoma for a year. Share cropper there, then moved to Poolville, Texas. Bought 50 acres and sometimes Dad only paid the interest.

Went to Poolville Church of Christ when I was 4. I think Mom had been Baptist and Dad a Methodist (or vice versa).

Graduated from Poolville in 11 years. Got to skip 4th grade as we were all smart (kidding).

Married at 17. Husband went into the Air Force for 20 years. Moved a lot. Loved seeing God’s earth and meeting different people.

Wish I had more time to do mission work, but if not meet me under the Tree of Life. – Wilma

Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard William and Kittie (Blair) Acree; son, Dewey Jewett; sister, Mildred Ellenburger; brothers, C. L. Burden, and Leo Burden.

Survivors: Son, Jason Jewett; daughter, Karen Milam; grandchildren, Athena Jewett, Heather Jewett, Kimberly Wood, and Kevin Milam; several great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family members and friends.
