Willistine "Willie" Sweetser, 83, of Fort Worth passed away peacefully into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, June 6, 2026 at Harris Hospital after a tough two year battle with lung cancer.

A committal service was held June 24, 2026 at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery where she was laid to rest beside her late husband, John.

Born December 25, 1942 in Ducktown, Tennessee, Willie graduated from Blackwell High School. During her senior year at Blackwell, Willie met the love of her life John. Willie and John were married in 1961, going on to have two children, Shelly and Darrel.

Willie spent over forty years with various companies working in accounting and marketing roles where she thrived. She was a meticulous and dedicated employee who loved the companies and those she worked with. Willie's hobbies were many and varied including crocheting, painting , stained glass art, and card games of any type. she won many awards for her paintings and art and loved teaching these crafts.

Willie very much cherished her time with family, especially her last few years enjoying trips and vacations with friends and family and particularly her last trip before passing, with her daughter, Shelly. 

Willie was preceded in death by her husband, John; and son, Darrel.

She is survived by daughter, Shelly Boynton and husband, Murray; grandchildren, Brittany Branch and husband, Decker, Brett Boynton, Samantha Smith and husband, Brandon; and great-grandchild Lily Smith.

Willie was a very special , caring woman who was tremendously loved by her family and friends and will be missed by all that were blessed to have known her.
