In Lieu of floral arrangements, a donation to First Baptist Church of Weatherford in honor of Bill Jordan would be greatly appreciated.

Bill was born on December 17, 1938, in Weatherford, Texas, the only child to his loving parents, Weldon and Viva Jordan. He was known as Billy Gene as a child and teenager. Bill was a 1957 graduate of Weatherford High School. He excelled in sports and track. Bill met Nancy, his wife of 68 years at WHS, and they made relationships with their high school friends that lasted for a lifetime and generations to come.

Bill lost his dear mother, Viva, in May of 1957. To honor his mother, Bill and Nancy’s wedding plans remained, and they were married on August 23, 1957. Bill and Nancy moved to Fort Worth so he could attend TCU on a track scholarship. They moved back to Weatherford in 1959 to start a family, and Bill went to work with his father, Weldon, at the family business, Jordan Construction. Bill remained active in the business and his ranch, called Seldom Seen. He spent almost every weekend of his adult life at his beloved ranch, and taught the grandsons about cattle and ranching.

Bill was an active member in his community and a proud citizen of Weatherford. In 2019, Bill was honored with his son, Judd Jordan, to receive a recognition from the Texas Historical Commission for owning a business in Parker County for more than 50 years. Bill served on the Texas Bank Board of Directors for many years and served on multiple City of Weatherford Committees. Bill was an active member of First Baptist Church, where he served and dedicated his time, and chaired many committees over the years. He received much joy helping Nancy teach 4th Grade Sunday School for 10 years. All the boys on the Sunday School floor loved his cowboy hat and boots.

Bill was a Proud member of the Parker County Sheriff's Posse. He joined the Posse in 1962, was Lieutenant in 1966, served as Captain in 1974, and served in many other ways – too many to list.

Bill was predeceased by his parents, Weldon and Viva Jordan; Weldon's wife, and the children's grandmother, Margaret Jordan; and his beloved youngest daughter, Jeannie Jordan Dietschy.

Bill is survived by his devoted wife of 68 years, Nancy; his daughter, Judy Jordan Giles of Weatherford; son, Judd Jordan and wife, Kaye, of Weatherford; grandchildren, Jordan Bishop and wife, Katy, of Aledo, Jason Bishop and wife, Christina, of Weatherford, Judson Jordan and wife, Whitney, of Brock, Jacob Jordan and wife, Kacie, of Weatherford, Sara Dietschy-Hill and husband, John, of Grapevine, John Reagan Dietschy of Grapevine, and Patrick Adams and wife, Liz, of Irving; great-grandchildren, Aubrey, William “Will” Jordan, Jack Dylan, and Viva Bishop, Grant, Witten, Chance, Luke, and Dean Jordan, and Daisy Hill; son in law, Dan Dietschy of Grapevine; and step brother, David Adams of Weatherford.

Bill loved his family dearly, told the truth, loved Jesus and always had a funny story. Daddy Bill is singing Willie’s Song – last trip – destination Heaven.
