William Pickings Dutton, 80, passed away Sunday, August 10, 2025, in Fort Worth, Texas.
Memorial: 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 16, 2025 at White’s Funeral Home Chapel in Springtown, Texas.
William was born August 21, 1944 in Smithfield, Texas to Albert Kimsey Dutton and Mable Martha
(Cheatam) Dutton.
He was raised in Springtown, Texas and attended school there, and eventually attended college at
North Texas State University, graduating in 1968 with a Master’s Degree.
William married Geneva Franklin on July 19th, 1969 and they raised their children in Springtown. They
would be married 56 wonderful years. He was employed by the Azle I.S.D. as an Industrial Arts Teacher
for many years and was well known and respected by the community for his work with students, even
welcoming girls into his classes when it was not accepted at the time.
He was preceded in death by his father, Albert Kimsey Dutton and mother, Mable Dutton.
William is survived by his wife, Geneva (Franklin) Dutton; son, Phillip Dutton and wife Melissa;
Grandchildren, Erica Madigan, Hunter Dutton, Colby Campbell; Great-grandchildren, Wyatt Madigan,
Boston Madigan, Syan; brother, George Dutton.
