William Delton “W. D.” Box, 83, passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at his home in Mineral Wells, surrounded by his family. Visitation: 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, October 16, 2022 at White’s Funeral Home, 101 N. E. 4th Avenue, Mineral Wells. Funeral Service: 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 17, 2022 at White’s Funeral Home, Mineral Wells. Interment: Graford Cemetery, Graford. W. D., also called Dale, was born April 18, 1939 in Summerfield, Oklahoma, son of John Alvis and Alice Sible (Lowery) Box. He met the love of his life, Joyce Allen, in Stephenville, and they were married on October 4, 1958. They would go on to spend over 64 happy years together raising their family. W. D. spent his leisure time fishing, camping, gardening and wood working. He loved a good conversation with family and friends, and also a good joke, but his greatest love was his family. He is preceded in death by his parents, Alvis and Alice Box; son, Bobby Box; grandson, Josh Box; brothers, Laderle Box, Earl Box, and Charles Box; sisters, Viola Hopkins, Loren McElroy, and Louise Lloyd. Survivors include his loving wife of 64 years, Joyce Box; sons, Benny Box and wife, Linda, Robert Box and wife, Deanna, and Dawayne Box and wife, Lori; grandchildren, Bobby Box and wife, Nikki, Alicia Fulton and husband, Jason, Delton Box and wife, Kristen, Jennifer Box, Lynsey McLaughlin and husband, Jason, Christian Richardson and husband, Jeromy, Tate Box, Billie Jo Taylor, Marissa Taylor, Whitney Sadek and husband, Hisham, Jessie Taylor, Eric Schoonover and wife, Elisha, and Hailey Grantham and husband, Ben; 32 great-grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren; siblings, Lillian Oliver, Irene Earls, Betsy Jones, and Robert Lee Box; and numerous nieces and nephews.
