He attended Weatherford College before completing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Math from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1967, and a Master of Education from North Texas State University in 1978.
Weldon met Doris Heady at Aledo First Baptist Church. He fell in love with her blue eyes while in high school and knew she would be his future.
