Wayne David Russell of Mineral Wells passed away Monday, Dec. 4, 2017 at the age of 85.Mass of Christian Burial: 10 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 108 N. W. 4th Ave., Mineral Wells, 76067.Visitation: 5 - 7 p.m. Friday at the church with a Rosary at 6 p.m.Wayne was the eldest son of Clyde and Lillian Russell. He was born and raised in upper Michigan and served as Chief of Police in St. Ignace, Michigan for many years. After moving to Texas, Wayne was an Industrial Radiologist at Perry Equipment Corporation where he worked until he retired. Wayne was very involved with church activities at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and was a Fourth Degree Knight.Wayne is survived by his wife of 63 years, Letha; children, Raymond Russell and wife, Carolyn, Jenny Peterson and husband, Rick, Matthew Russell and wife, Laurie, and Robin Russell and wife, Michellea; 12 grandchildren, Brandon Russell and wife, Stacey, Michael Russell, Katherine Russell, Andrew Peterson, Nicole Peterson, Christopher Russell and wife, Carrie, Amy Russell, Jeffrey Russell and wife, Kassandra, Kelly Roell and husband, Michael, Genevieve Russell, Houston Russell, and Duncan Russell; nine great-grandchildren, Rebecca Russell, Elizabeth Russell, Jacob Russell, Kaley Russell, Evelyn Roell, Jason Nelon, Rylee Nelon, Brendan Russell, and Ava Russell; sisters, Dixie Kibler and husband, John, and Heidi Milbauer and husband, Wayne; brother, Jack Russell and wife, Rose Ann; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.Services are in care of White's Funeral Home, Mineral Wells.
