Verena Moll

Verena Moll, 92, passed away peacefully in Weatherford, Texas on Thursday, May 8th, 2025. She was surrounded by family and friends who loved her.

Funeral: 10:00 AM, Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1500 W. Ball Street, Weatherford, TX 76086.

Interment: Memory Gardens of the Valley, Weatherford.

Visitation: 6:00-8:00 PM, Tuesday, May 20, 2025 at White’s Funeral Home, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church Building Fund or Lutheran Women in Mission Fund.

Verena was born on February 19th, 1933, the daughter of Franz Josef Leicht and Hilda Ida (Bauer) Leicht in Tuellingen, Germany. Verena was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church in the village of Tuellingen, and on September 15th, 1956 she was married to Hans Rudolf Moll in the same small church. In Texas, Verena was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church since 1988.

Verena was a homemaker devoted to her family. She was an excellent cook and loved to make her home welcoming to family and friends. She was a great seamstress and knitter, and clothed her children in many homemade garments.

With her children grown and out of the house, Verena followed her husband Hans to Texas in 1982. She turned her energy to learning about the fauna and flora of Texas and became an avid gardener.

In her later years she became “second Mom” to many younger friends.

Verena was preceded in death by her parents, Franz Josef and Hilda Leicht; her husband, Hans Moll; and her son, Hans Peter Moll.

Verena is survived by her daughter, Gundi Chambers; niece, Carmen Buck; and numerous friends who loved her quiet, humble spirit.
