Velva "Meghan" Marie Smith

Velva Marie Smith, affectionately known as Meghan, passed away Tuesday, December 7, 2021 in Granbury.

Visitation: 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, prior to the service

Funeral Service: 2 p.m. Saturday, December 11, 2021 in White’s Chapel of Memories, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford.

Interment: Memory Gardens of the Valley, 5600 Mineral Wells Hwy., Weatherford.

 Meghan was born May 6, 1947 in Burnet, TX to Aubrey Samford and Lizzie Velma Jowers Samford. She was a devoted homemaker, wife and mother to her four children. Meghan loved her family and her grandchildren were the light of her life. Meghan had a green thumb and loved to grow roses, pink were her favorite. She was very crafty and creative.

 Meghan was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, of 27 years, Terry E Baker; second husband, of 22 years, Paul T Smith; and brother, Albert Samford.

 She is survived by her children, Kathie Sasser, Theresa Baker, David Baker, and Daniel Baker; step-children Rhonda Tatman (Jeff), Vada Harper (Will), Melissa McKee (Mike); grandchildren, Randy Beach (Katie), Candace Compton (Eric), Paul Baker (Ashlynn), Pamela Baker, and Hannah Baker; step-grandchildren, Matthew Harper, Megan Whittaker (Tyler), Jeremy Tatman, Johnathan Glenn, Jana McKee, Tyler Sasser, and Kody Sasser; great-grandchildren, Alexis Beach, Eli Sasser, Clara Beach and Roston Beach; step great-grandchildren, Emry Galloway, Oaklynn Whittaker, Benjamin Tatman, and Wyatt Pack; one great-great granddaughter, AubreyElla Elizabeth Compton; siblings, Jimmy Samford, Levetta L. May, Roger Samford, Alfred Samford, Margaret Carter, Randy Samford, Ellis Samford, and Jeanette Teague; and numerous nieces and nephews.
