Tommy Wayne Clayton

Mayor Tom Clayton passed away on the morning of July 11, 2018.  Tom was born July 23, 1961 in Amarillo, Texas to Clarence H. Clayton and Brigitte Clayton. Tom served in the United States Air Force and was Honorably Discharged in 1981 due to service related injuries.  He went on to receive his Undergraduate Degree in Political Science from the University of Nevada Las Vegas and then his Master’s Degree in Public Administration & Urban Development from the University of Texas. At the same time and as a single father, Tom raised his only son. Tom moved to Springtown in 1999 to live near and provide support to his ailing father.  While in Springtown, Tom served his community using the knowledge and experience he gained working for the Nevada Republican Party.  Tom served as a Springtown City Councilman for 3 terms and served as Mayor for 2 terms. Tom dearly loved his son, his cats, and his community and he will be sorely missed.
