Saturday, January 13, 2024 at White’s Azle Chapel, Azle. Interment: Pope Cemetery Lee was a devoted husband, loving father, and cherished friend. Born on July 19, 1939, in Bridgeport, Texas, to Elzie Ray Stokes and Eva Belle Stokes, Lee lived a life marked by adventure, resilience, and love. Lee graduated from Birdville High School in 1958, embarking on a life filled with passions, including cars, roller skating, and rodeos. He met the love of his life, Patricia Hays, at Pat's Skateland in Fort Worth. Following Lee's service in the U.S. Army, the couple settled in Azle, raising their children, Scott and Toyia. Lee, a skilled mechanic and craftsman, built the family homes by hand. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing and family vacations. Preceded in death by his parents, Elzie Ray Stokes and Eva Belle Stokes; and his wife, Patricia. Lee is survived by his son, Scott Stokes and wife, Linda; daughter, Toyia Stokes Winters and husband, Mark; brother, Carroll Stokes and wife, Joan; sister, Norma Farley and husband, Paul; granddaughters, Jessica Murray and Kelsey Baker; great-granddaughter, Caroline Murray; and extended family. Lee's enduring strength, love, and unwavering faith in the Lord will be remembered by all who knew him. May he rest in eternal peace.
