Thelma Marie Shaw

Thelma Shaw, 92, passed away Sunday, January 1, 2023. Service: 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, January 10, 2023 in White’s Chapel of Memories. Interment: East Greenwood Cemetery, Weatherford. Visitation: 6 to 8 P.M Monday, January 9, 2023 at White’s Funeral Home, Weatherford. Thelma was born July 26, 1930 to Leslie and Jesse Davis in Cyril, Oklahoma. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Weatherford. Thelma was a homemaker who really enjoyed keeping the house spotless so much she would vacuum in front of the TV during Dallas Cowboy Games, which Glenn would reluctantly allow. Thelma in her earlier years enjoyed walking, As the World Turns, attending high school sporting events, such as cross country and track and 9 year old baseball. She especially enjoyed piano recitals from Janice, her daughter. Thelma was married to Glenn for a happy 68 years. They met when Thelma was a cashier in a five and dime store, where Glenn would buy items so he could meet and see her. She loved to shop at stores and on HSN. Thelma collected pie pans, cake holders or stands, cookie jars, anything Betty Boop, dolls, and Elsa figurines. She especially loved to eat at Furrs and Cracker Barrel. Thelma loved all the special caregivers, Francis, Vicky, Cathy, Alicia and Maria. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn; two sisters and three brothers. Thelma is survived by her daughter, Janice and husband, John; sons, Ronnie and wife, Patricia; Donnie and wife, Diane; niece, Tammy; nephews, Leslie Ray and Bruce; 6 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
