Ted F. Gray, age 83, went to be with his savior on Monday, April 20, 2026.
Visitation: 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, April 26, 2026 in White’s Chapel of Memories, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford.
Funeral Service: 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 27, 2026 at the Church of God Campground, 2440 Fort Worth Hwy., Weatherford.
Interment: Memory Gardens of the Valley, 5600 Mineral Wells Hwy., Weatherford.
Ted was born on August 30, 1942, in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, to Ben and Faith Gray, during the height of World War II.
Ted was working as the night foreman for the Examiner newspaper in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, when he graduated from College High in 1961. He went on to attend Lee College in Cleveland, Tennessee, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Education in 1967. He later received a Master’s Degree in Religious Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth. He was an avid reader and lifelong learner who crafted his sermons with excellence.
In 1970, Ted met the love of his life, Charlene Rowley, at the World Pentecostal Conference in Dallas, Texas. They were married on February 3, 1973, and served together in ministry for 53 years. God blessed them with three children, all of whom are followers of Christ.
Throughout his ministry, Ted served as a church planter, pastor, Youth and Christian Education Director, Ministerial Internship Program coordinator, and on numerous boards within the Church of God in Texas. His influence extended beyond the congregations he pastored to the many ministers and communities he served.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Faith Gray; his siblings, Margie Stone, Nadine Roberts, Wanda Capps, Louise Murray, Jack Gray, Pete Gray, Mary Hilton, Tommy Gray, Charles Gray, and Wes Gray.
Ted is survived by his devoted wife, Charlene Gray; his children, Paul Gray and wife, Cassy, of Weatherford, Nick Gray and wife, Danessa, of Weatherford, and Victoria Robertson and husband, Daniel, of Iowa Park; his grandchildren, Londyn, Owen, Noah, Luke, Levi, Reid, Eli, Olivia, and Benjamin; and his siblings, Dr. Don Paul Gray of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Bill Gray of Ellijay, Georgia, and Sue Drew of Marysville, Washington.
Ted will be remembered for his steadfast faith, his dedication to ministry, and his commitment to his family.
