Ted Burdell, Jr.

February 7, 1935 — August 28, 2022

Ted Burdell, Jr., 87, passed away Sunday, August 28, 2022 in Weatherford. Memorial Service: 2:00 p.m., Monday, September 5, 2022 at White’s Funeral Home Chapel in Springtown. He was born on February 7, 1935 in Colorado City, Texas to Theodore Burdell, Sr. and Gladys Black. On his final day, he was surrounded by his wife, children, and grandchildren who he adored more than anything else in the world. Ted was loved by many and will be sorely missed. He worked hard his whole life. He spent 61 years in the oilfield. He and his wife Virginia just celebrated their 43rd wedding anniversary on August 21st. She was the love of his life. The second love of his life was his grandchildren. He enjoyed fishing and feeding the birds and squirrels. And when he wasn’t doing those things you would find him piddling around the yard fixing something. Ted never met a stranger and would give the shirt off his back to help anyone. He loved to tell old stories of working on the rig where he made countless friends. To Dad: We will always remember that special smile, that caring heart, that warm embrace you always gave us, you being there for mom and us through good times and bad no matter what. We’ll always remember you because they’ll never be another one to replace you in our hearts and the love we will always have for you. Ted is survived by his wife Virginia; 3 daughters, Jennifer Butler [Erick] of Weatherford, Carol Morris [Dale] of Abilene, Candace Gail Kennemer [Tom] of Abilene; 2 sons, Greg Carpenter [Tina] of Coleman, TJ Burdell and fiancé Brittney Wilcox of Brownwood; 11 grandchildren, Dillian Ramos and fiancé Taylor Hines of Weatherford, Lindsey Mann [Kody] of Boyd, Holly Ramos and fiancé Blaze Drennan of Springtown, Lilly Butler, Gage Burdell of Coahoma, Jewels Burdell of Coahoma, Casey Morris of Abilene, Marshall Morris [Melanie] of Abilene, Brandon Parker [Megan] of Abilene, Michael Parker [Cara] of Abilene, Ryan Mason [Stephanie] of College Station; 17 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews.
