Steven Edward Griffin

Steven Edward Griffin, 69, of Springtown, Texas, passed away on January 15, 2026. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He found great joy in his faith, sports, and music. He will be remembered for his love of Jesus, announcing sporting events, and constantly singing. 

Born on October 7, 1956 in Fort Worth, Texas, Steven was the son of Ray Edward Griffin and Margaret Lois Griffin. Throughout his life, he was known for his dedication to serving his community as a teacher, pastor, and police officer. He devoted many years to teaching in Springtown, Azle, and Paradise ISD, where he was respected for his love for learning, his students and his coworkers. He served many church congregations as music minister, lead pastor and everything in between. 

He is survived by his wife Danna Griffin, Children - Brandy (Danny) Zumwalt, Brad (Brandy) Griffin, Heath (Lindsay) Griffin, Grandchildren - Ian, Autumn, & Elijah Zumwalt, Ryder, Grayson, & Brycen Griffin, Lauren Burgess, Garrett, Wyatt, Sawyer & Caleb Runyan, Sisters - Diane (Gary) Spooner, Debbie (Mike) Conner, Lori Griffin, Brothers - Johnny Griffin, Terry Griffin, Rick (Melissa) Griffin, Scott (Tracy) Griffin, Johnnie Pitts and numerous nieces, nephews, & cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents Ray Griffin, Lois Griffin, and sister Vicki Pitts.

 A memorial service will be held on January 30, 2026 at First Baptist Church in Springtown. Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm with the memorial service to follow at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations be given to First Baptist Church Springtown Missions or Benevolence Fund.
