Steven was born January 6, 1965, son of John and Ann Bates. Steven and Lynn were soul mates, and there was no one in this world he loved more than his wife. He was a man of Faith and instilled the importance of a relationship with Christ in his children. Steven’s marriage was admired by many, and certainly a legacy he has left his daughters with. They were married 38 years. He loved to travel, take spectacular pictures, ride his peloton, making his famous pizzas, and using his grill/smoker. Nothing sparked joy in Steven quite like seeing his family together and watching all his grandchildren play. Steven loved his daughters and was very proud of the lives they built with their husbands. Steven was very proud of his sons-in-law and truly loved them as if they were his own. He was extremely generous, kind, compassionate, and had an uncanny ability to make those around him feel seen and appreciated. Steven was very successful, and highly respected in the power industry. He loved his job and the great people he worked with. He was highly respected by those above him, his peers and those who worked for Steven. To know Steven was to love him and his absence here on earth will leave a large void for many. Steven is survived by his wife, Lynn Bates; daughters, Cynthia (Andrew Millhollen), and Amanda (Travis Teigen); grandchildren, Mackenzie, Paisley, Brasen, Jaxon, and Brixton; father and mother, John and Ann Bates; brothers, Martin (Jill) Bates, and Christopher (Charlene) Bates; nephews, Carter, Noah, Riley, Connor, and Ethan; father-in-law, Laurent Rainville (predeceased Georgette).
