Stella Zukas Renner, 101, passed away Thursday, March 21, 2019. Funeral: 10 a.m., Tuesday at St. Stephen Catholic Church, 1802 Bethel Road, Weatherford, Texas 76086. Burial: Memory Gardens of the Valley Memorial Park. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m., Monday at White's Funeral Home, Weatherford. Stella was born July 6, 1917 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to John and Agnes Zukas, immigrants from Lithuania. She was the oldest of 6 siblings. Stella completed her schooling to start working as a seamstress at the age of thirteen to help her family during the depression. She married Stan Renner in 1941 and to this union, Marilyn was born. They moved to Weatherford in 1951 to be closer to family. She transitioned from seamstress to office work. Stella was a payroll clerk for the last 23 years. She retired from PECO at the age of 65. Upon retirement, she took up quilting, gardening, and traveling with her husband. After she lost Stan at the age of 80, Stella made old age fashionable. She took up exercising and played bridge. The Lord blessed her with good health and she lived everyday to the fullest. She was still driving and living independently at 101 years old. She was a member of the Historical District Breakfast Group in her neighborhood and was active in three bridge clubs. She attended St. Stephen Catholic Church and belonged to CDA and the Altar Society. Stella is preceded in death by husband, Stan Renner; her five younger sisters; and beloved nephew, Tim Renner, formerly of Weatherford. Survivors: Daughter, Marilyn Reynolds; step-granddaughters, Lisa, Cathy, and Laura of Little Rock, Ark; step-great grandchildren, Rick and Thia; two step-great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend thanks to friends, neighbors, and caregivers.
