Stanley Gene Liles

March 26, 1938 — September 9, 2021

Stanley Gene Liles, of Parker County, TX, went to heaven on September 9, 2021, at age 83. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years Sally Elaine Liles, his eldest daughter Elaine Marie Scott and son-in-law Randall Eugene Scott, and his youngest daughter Sarah Lillian Liles. He was preceded in death by his parents Benjamin Franklin Liles and Lillie Ophelia Liles and his younger brothers Malcolm Liles and Lowell Liles. Stanley was born in Bel, LA and was raised in Moss Bluff, LA. His chosen career in construction led him to move to Dallas, TX in 1965 where he worked for various construction companies as a master carpenter, job foreman, job superintendent, and project manager. The latter half of his commercial construction experience was spent at Linbeck Construction building high-rises and skyscrapers. In 1979, The North Texas Chapter of the American Subcontractors Association, Inc. presented Stanley with the Outstanding Job Superintendent of the Year award. He was selected for this award for his service to Linbeck, efficient job operation, his coordination of the various building trades, and his collaboration with the subcontractors. Stanley was well-known as a man of integrity and a master craftsman who generously shared and taught his vast knowledge and experience to anyone who wanted to learn. He was at the forefront of innovating procedures to ensure jobsite safety. Linbeck sent Stanley numerous times to various construction projects to lead investigations and to troubleshoot problems. In the late 1980s, Stanley transitioned to become a self-employed contractor who focused on residential construction projects, including new home construction and remodels, in which he rigorously ensured quality and safety. Stanley raised his family in Ellis County and was a devoted husband and father. He was a man of great faith. As a young man, he was a Sunday school teacher and youth group leader. He served with leadership responsibilities as deacon and elder in the churches he attended. He also was a lifelong member of the Gideons and held leadership responsibilities with that organization as well. In 1995, Stanley and Sally Liles moved to Parker County, TX, where he built their home. He was a voracious reader of nonfiction and was a lifelong learner. His hobbies included organic gardening and teaching others about gardening as well as training horses, and in later years he became an excellent home chef. The private family funeral service will be held in Azle, TX the week of September 12th, and Stanley will be interred at Ash Creek Cemetery in Azle. In lieu of flowers, donations to CBN/Operation Blessing would be welcome. Operation Blessing focuses on providing hunger relief, clean water, disaster relief, and medical care to those in need. We will miss Stanley’s dry wit, the sparkle in his eyes when he told a particularly good joke and his generous spirit. His deep love for his family and friends continues in our hearts. Psalm 23.
