Sidney Gene Nelson

Sidney Gene Nelson, 63, passed away Sunday, July 15, 2018. 

Service: 10 a.m. Wednesday at White's Funeral Home, 401 N. Main, Springtown, 76082. 

Interment: Boonsville Cemetery. 

Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at White's Funeral Home. 

Sidney was born January 15, 1955 in Borger to Cecil and Junior Nelson. He retired from Eagle Mountain ISD as the Custodian Supervisor after 37 years of dedicated service. In his spare time, he enjoyed “junking.” He collected all the Coca-Cola memorabilia he could find and loved spending time with his grandchildren, but was always ready to send them home.

 He was a loving husband, father, and Papa who will be greatly missed.

 Sidney was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Junior Nelson; and sisters, Linda Wilson and Deborah Vestal. 

Survivors: wife of 40 years, Cora Sue Nelson; children, Larry Christie and wife, Dawn, Laquicia Gilbert and husband, Robert, and Steven Nelson and wife, Nora; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Cecil Glen Nelson and wife, Jackie; sister, Toni Elliston; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
