Funeral Service: 10 a.m. Monday, October 3, 2022 at New Faith Baptist Church, 3303 FM 5, Aledo. Interment: Annetta Cemetery, Annetta. Shirley was born April 8, 1945 in Fort Worth, daughter of Tommy and Lucille (Hill) Fitzgerald. She was a long-time member of Rock of Help Church, where her husband served as a deacon. More recently, she was a member of New Faith Baptist Church in Aledo. For many years, Shirley served in jail ministry. She found a unique niche that would become a passion for her, and it gave her an opportunity to serve others and be a witness for the love of Jesus. Shirley was a talented seamstress, and over the years she used this talent to bless others. She enjoyed volunteering at nursing homes and giving the patients quilts that she had made. While she had many loves, her first love was her family. Shirley was a fierce defender of those she loved. She would always defend those close to her, even if it meant they had to answer to her for consequences later. Shirley was a caretaker by nature. Over the years, she served as a caregiver for many friends and family members. Whether it be a lady from church who needed a ride, or an ill family member, Shirley was always one to serve others. She is preceded in death by her father; and her husband, E.J. Saulter. Survivors include her mother, Lucille Fitzgerald; daughter, Dodie Stockstill-Lindley (Delmer); son, Barry Saulter (Cindy); grandchildren, Cole Stevens (Robyn Hart), CharliAnn Lindley-Delgado (Corey), Alyssa Ruth Neumann West, Samuel Saulter, Christy Wray, Stacey Nations, and Samantha Hester; great-grandchildren, Dixie Pearl Stevens, Alexis Delgado, Diego Delgado, Malekai Reyes, and Scarlett Neuman West; sisters, Rebecca (Fitzgerald) Riggs and Patricia (Fitzgerald) Largent; and a host of other family members and friends. Over the years, Shirley was a blessing in many lives, and she will be missed by all who knew her.
