Shirley E Leach

Shirley Estell Matthews Leach, 89, died Wednesday June 2, 2021, at home surrounded by family. No service planned at this time. Shirley was born Sept. 25, 1931, in Santa Anna, Texas. She graduated from Santa Anna High School, moved to Ft. Worth in 1950 where she met and then married C.D. “Babe” Leach Sr., on March 4, 1955. In 1963 she moved to Azle where she and her husband lived until her passing. A loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt, “Nanny” took great pleasure in her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Babe Leach, son Buddy Leach, great-grandson Austin Graham, and ten brothers and sisters. Survivors: Daughter, Cherilyn Leach-Lanning and wife Lyn of Ft. Worth; Grandchildren, Stacie Merrill and husband Matt of Azle, Josh Graham and wife Tina of Azle, and Matt Leach of New York City, NY; Daughter-in-law, Susan Stanek and husband Andy of Southlake; Brother, Truman Matthews and wife Bess of Burkett; three great-grandchildren Jason Merrill, Taylor Merrill and Maddison Graham.
