Shirley Ann Knight

January 21, 1939 — December 16, 2021

Shirley A. Knight, 82, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 16, 2021. Shirley’s graveside service will be on Thursday, December 23, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Laurel Land, 7100 Crowley Rd., Fort Worth, Texas 76134. Shirley would prefer that instead of flowers, a donation be made in her memory to your charity of choice. Shirley Ann Heckard was born January 21, 1939 to Follmer LaVere Heckard and Margaret Elmira Smarowsky in Ashland, Pennsylvania. Shirley lived a busy life. She was always a homemaker but also ran a daycare in her home until she retired. Shirley loved to crochet and made afghans, baby blankets, and bedspreads for her children, grandchildren, friends, and for anyone who asked. She loved to cook, especially pies, cakes, and Christmas cookies. Shirley loved visiting her family in Pennsylvania and usually visited once a year to attend family reunions. She also loved to visit in the fall to see the fall colors. Shirley and Ted loved Nascar and sometimes would plan the family vacation around a race they wanted to attend. She also loved to watch westerns (any western), the Waltons, Texas Ranger baseball and hockey games with Ted. Shirley was a devout Christian and believer in Jesus Christ, our Lord. She loved her family and always put them first before herself. Shirley was compassionate, understanding, friendly, and the strongest and bravest wife and mother. She will be missed. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Follmer and Margaret Heckard; and her first husband, Calvin Wolfe. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Teddy C. Knight; daughters, Wanda Wolfe, Donna Boyd and husband, Andy Barbeau, and Denease Denson; and son, Darren Knight, fiancé Angie Daniel Frey; grandsons, Scott Boyd and wife, Mary, Josh Tobin, Mitch Boyd, and Conor Denson and wife, Nikki; granddaughter, Tonna Denson; and great-grandchildren, Blair Denson and Paxton Denso; also survived by three brothers; one sister; many nieces and one nephew.
