She graduated from Silver Creek Texas High School at the age of 15. Shirley was highly intelligent. Her first job was working as a concessionaire at the movie theater on the square in Weatherford, Texas. By her retirement date in 1993, she had even served as the Transportation Officer at the Pentagon in Washington, DC where the staff wanted her to stay until she retired, but circumstances warranted otherwise. She retired as Transportation Officer for General Dynamics in Fort Worth. Shirley owned a small farm for a time, and raised horses and cattle. She was quite fond of animals, and had a deep love for her family and the many friends she had made over her lifetime. Shirley was a Christian and had re-dedicated her life to Christ recently at the Assembly of God Church in Cool, Texas, where she was an active member. She will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her. Gone but never forgotten.
