Shelly Ann Deatherage

January 1, 1962 — July 2, 2022

Shelly Ann Deatherage, 60, passed away Saturday, July 2, 2022 in Fort Worth. Visitation: 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, July 7, 2022 at White's Funeral Home, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford. Mass of Christian Burial: 2:30 p.m. Thursday at St. Stephen Chapel, 211 South Main St., Weatherford. Shelly was born January 1, 1962, daughter of Ronald Dean and Joan (Schoehnerr) Roberts. We will celebrate her life the way she came into this world, with a bang. She was born in Omaha, Nebraska on New Year’s Day. Boy was she so proud of that moment where she was the first baby born in her town that year, and was featured on the front page of the Plattsmouth Newspaper. That was her shining star moment. Shelly attended Plattsmouth High School, where she was lead Majorette of the band and could throw a baton so high in the sky, according to her little sister, she never thought it was coming down. She loved horses so much that she started grooming and galloping as a young woman and was so happy talking about her time on the Racetrack, all while earning a degree in Cosmetology. Realizing her true passion was horses, Shelly spent the rest of her days working on the track and raising her family in Hot Springs, Arkansas. These were the moments she would want us to remember. She loved her grandchildren with all of her heart and was so happy that she got to spend every moment she could with them. Shelly was a firecracker who fought hard until the very end. A true fighter since the day she was born! Everyone that knew her knows that she probably loved her dogs more than people. Her love filled the room and she knew exactly how she wanted to live her life. Today we say goodbye to her, but she lives through each person she touched. We love you Mom, rest peacefully in heaven. She was preceded in death by Esther Roberts, Max Roberts, Anna Schoehnerr, and John Schoehnerr. She is remembered by her parents; Ron and Joan Roberts of Omaha, Nebraska; sisters, Renee (Jim) Hennings, of LaVista, Nebraska, Juli (Bill) Jackson, of Omaha, Nebraska; her children, Justin (Meredith) Deatherage, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Ashley (Drew) Mishler, of Weatherford, Texas, Corey (Kaila) Deatherage, of Hot Springs, Arkansas; grandchildren, Natalie and Austin Deatherage, Kaleb, Kylie, and Kaydee Metz, Lola and Jaxton Mishler, and Kaden Marie.
