Malcolm Don Irby passed away on Tuesday, October 18, 2022. Graveside Service: 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 21, 2022 at Memory Gardens of the Valley, 5600 Mineral Wells Hwy., Weatherford, with visitation at 9:30 a.m. prior to the service. Don was born to Ella and Buford Irby on May 27, 1938 in Sulphur Bluff, Texas. He spent his youth in West Texas where his father was a Methodist Minister. Don graduated from Fort Hancock High School, and then went to McMurray University and graduated with a degree in Business. Don married Margaret Imle and they had two boys. He was drafted into the Army after his graduation and served three years in the military service. Don moved to Fort Worth and worked for Fort Worth ISD for 12 years. He married Ann Byrne in 1978 and they moved to New Mexico where he worked for New Mexico Tech University for 20 years until his retirement. After retirement they moved back to Texas to be near family. Don and Ann loved each other very much and enjoyed their life together. They were married for 44 years. Don was preceded in death by his parents, Ella and Buford Irby; and step- daughter, Kristi Pate. Malcolm Don Irby is survived by his loving wife, Ann; his two sons, Michael Irby and Stephen Irby; his brother, Jerry Irby and wife, Linda. He is also survived by his step-daughter and family, Kelly and Marc Strobel, and grandchildren, Ryan Strobel and wife, Kaitlyn, Megan Vermillion and husband, Chase, and Jakob Strobel and wife, Lynn; and great-grandchildren, Michael, Brynlee, Braydon, Bristol, and Jackson; and step-daughter, Karla Pate and granddaughter, Audrey Rivera and husband, Daniel; and great-granddaughter, Athena.
