Russell Dean Allen

Russell Dean Allen, 76, passed away on Monday, May 12, 2025 in Springtown, TX. 

Russell Dean Allen was born in Meridian, TX in 1949.  He was raised in a rural area outside of Cleburne, TX, where he met his wife. He joined the Navy in 1968. Russ was stationed at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island and served four years active wartime duty on the flight deck of an aircraft carrier.

He returned to Cleburne after his service and started his own business. He also lived on and ran a small ranch with his wife in Cleburne. Together they traveled and lived in different states, including living in New Mexico for 11 years. Russ retired in Springtown, TX.

Russell had many interests and hobbies: shooting, fishing, metal work, knife making, to name a few.

Russ passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones in his home in Springtown, TX. He was the beloved husband of Lynn Allen and faithful father of Jennifer Allen and Gaylynn Washburn. He will be missed by his grandson, Jaybin Washburn, sons-in-law, Dasan Washburn and Hugo Gonzales, friends, and neighbors.
