Robert "Bob" Soto

September 20, 1952 — February 8, 2024

Robert (Bob, Quazi, Pops) Soto age 71, passed peacefully on Thursday, February 8, 2024 at Hilltop Rehab in Weatherford after a long-fought battle with lymphedema and immobility. Graveside Service: 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 19, 2024 at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made in Bob’s name to a Veteran or Military cause of your choice. Robert proudly served and was honorably discharged from the United States Marine Corps, before working as an officer for the Los Angeles Police Department, and as an agent for the U.S. Border Patrol. He enjoyed riding his Harley wherever the wind carried him, and knew more details about most things than most could imagine. Even if he was making it all up, he always left us wondering. Bob finished his working years as a private investigator, finally retiring in 2007. Eventually, he planted roots in Texas to be closer to his parents and grandchildren. In retirement, he continued to be the world’s best (and most terrifying) long distance driver, having traveled through most of the 48 contiguous United States in that old black Chevy Tahoe with his wife by his side. His final road trip took place in the summer of 2021, with both grandsons in tow. Something he had dreamed about and begged for came to fruition before he knew his driving days were through. The memories made will remain timeless for Henry and Nick, as he was truly their best friend, and he loved nothing more than getting to be their “Grandpa”. When asked last fall what he would love to do most once he got well, he said he wanted to have a big party for ALL the family, so he could see everyone. He loved to watch movies, listen to and share his favorite music while playing “I’ll bet you don’t know who this is!!” and making sure those around him knew he may not have always been right, but he was never wrong. He will be sorely missed and remembered for always. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Henry F. and Dora (Franco) Soto; and his son, Raymond. He leaves behind his wife of 33 years, Victoria, of Millsap; his son and his family, Paul, Elisha, Henry, and Nick, of Weatherford; siblings, Richard of Anaheim, California, Diane of Lipan, and Vince of northern Wisconsin along with their spouses; two nieces, Talia of Fort Worth and Tiffany with her husband PJ, also of Fort Worth; his first wife and mother to his son, Debbie, still resides in California.
