Jody began his life journey on August 27, 1945 in Wichita Falls, Texas, born to Calvin and Bessie (Hudson) Cearley. He was the seventh of seven children, brothers, Calvin Lynn Cearley, Calvin Cearley Jr., and Alvin Cearley, and sisters, Betty Jeane, Ruby Joyce, and Ann Cozby, all who have preceded him in death.
Raised in humble beginnings, he learned the value of hard work from an early age. Throughout his life, Jody demonstrated an unparalleled work ethic, pouring his heart and soul into everything he pursued. His life was characterized by his unwavering loyalty and dedication to his family. Whether it was laboring long hours to provide, or sacrificing his own desires for the sake of his family, he remained humble and committed to those he loved.
His mischievous grin and playful spirit brought joy and humor into the lives of those he loved. Whether it was his witty sayings, lighthearted teasing, or staging an elaborate story for the grandkids, his quick wit and endless humor were a source of endless laughs and amusement.
Jody was a seasoned truck driver and Owner Operator for over 50+ years with a story for every mile of asphalt he's ever crossed. We will forever miss that twinkle in his eye and the grin that stretched from ear to ear as shop conversations with friends and accomplices were spun into tales of hotrods and trucks—stories of the cross-country trips, fast cars and adventures. Each tale more colorful than the last, filled with heart-stopping close calls, sucking the doors off of other trucks, and triumphant escapes from the cops, the kind of camaraderie that can only be found among true kindred spirits.
Jody was a devoted husband, father, and friend, whose selflessness knew no bounds. He never hesitated to put the needs of others before his own, offering a helping hand to those in need. His acts of kindness and generosity touched the lives of countless individuals and left a lasting mark on the hearts of all who knew him.
His life was a testament to the virtues of hard work, perseverance, and commitment, leaving behind a legacy of integrity and inspiration.
