Richard Alan Kenney, 60, of Weatherford, Texas, passed away on September 3, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, friendship, leadership, and cherished memories.

Born on January 31, 1966, in Wantagh, New York, Rich lived a life defined by dedication, integrity, and a genuine appreciation for the people and experiences that enriched his journey. He graduated from the University of Texas in December 1988 with a degree in Business Administration and went on to build a distinguished career in retail. Through hard work, perseverance, and exceptional leadership, Rich achieved great professional success, ultimately rising to the position of Vice President of Operations.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Rich embraced life with enthusiasm and curiosity. He loved traveling and exploring new places, creating lasting memories and experiences along the way. An avid reader, he found both knowledge and enjoyment in books throughout his life. He also took great pride in working in his yard, finding peace and satisfaction in creating a beautiful and welcoming space.

Above all, Rich cherished the time he spent with family and friends. Whether celebrating special occasions, sharing stories and laughter, or simply enjoying each other’s company, he valued the relationships that brought meaning and happiness to his life.

Rich leaves behind his partner and best friend, Robert Wade Griffith, with whom he shared 28 wonderful years of love, companionship, and devotion.

Rich was preceded in death by his father, John H. Kenney. He is survived by his mother, Agnes B. Kenney; his brothers, John and Evelyn Kenney, Kevin and Karri Kenney, Stuart Kenney, and Bryan and Tori Kenney; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Rich will be forever loved, deeply missed, and fondly remembered.

The family would like to express their gratitude to The Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders in Weatherford for their wonderful care and compassion.
