Reta Idell Ford

Reta Idell Ford, 86, passed away Monday, September 5, 2022 in Weatherford. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, September 8, 2022 at White’s Funeral Home, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford. Funeral Service: 2 p.m. Saturday, September 10, 2022 at First Baptist Church, 221 W. Church St., Weatherford. Interment: East Greenwood Cemetery, Weatherford. Reta was born October 15, 1935 in Fort Worth, daughter of James David and Gertrude (Oldham) Wilson. She met the love of her life, Arlon Ford, and they were married on June 24, 1955 in Fort Worth. They would go on to spend nearly 67 happy years together raising their family. Reta had an inherent love for children. She served as Day Care Director for First Baptist Church for 30 years, and as the family put it, over the years, “she raised half of Weatherford.” She enjoyed the beauty of flowers and loved to grow them in her garden. She is preceded in death by her parents; and seven brothers and sisters. Survivors include her loving husband, Arlon Ford; children, Jed Ford (Jerri), Cylinda Heger (Dan), Darin Ford (Rene’), and Jeff Ford (Mitzi); grandchildren, Terri Ford, Lauren (Ford) Barnes, Harrison Heger, Hannah (Heger) Garner, Nolan Ford, Jace Ford, Jenna Ford, Jared Ford, and Jancey Ford; great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Harlow, Hutton, Hazel, Landry, Camryn, Brynn, and Winslow; brother, George Wilson; sister, Mila Smith; and a host of other extended family members and friends.
