Randy Scott McNutt, known to family and friends simply as Scott, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2026, at the age of 68.
Born on July 19, 1957, in Weatherford, Texas, Scott was the beloved son of Bailey and Myrna McNutt, who preceded him in death. A lifelong resident of Weatherford, Scott was known for his love of family, his curiosity, and his desire to continually learn and grow.
Scott is survived by his loving wife, Anita McNutt; his brother, Brian McNutt of Weatherford; and his three daughters: Rachel Tiwater and husband Rick of Cleburne, Texas; Rebecca Etherton and husband Dustin of Weatherford, Texas; and Liz McDonald and husband Andy of Covington, Washington.
One of Scott’s greatest joys in life was being “Paw Paw.” He was immensely proud of his twelve grandchildren Austin Finstad (27), Brandon Noblett (26), Aydn Etherton (22), Caden Tiwater (21), Emily Bishop (21), Jace Tiwater (19), Brenden Fennell (17), Bailey Wilkins (15), Reagan Tiwater (10), River Etherton (6), Wesley McDonald (4), and Sloane McDonald (1-1/2 months old) and five great-grandchildren, who brought him endless happiness and purpose. His family was the center of his world, and he treasured every moment spent with them.
Scott was a talented writer and a lifelong student. He had an insatiable curiosity and a genuine passion for learning. Whether researching history, science, current events, or a new interest shared by one of his children or grandchildren, Scott loved expanding his knowledge and sharing what he discovered. It was common for him to follow up with thoughtful phone calls after researching a topic, eager to discuss what he had learned and encourage those he loved in their pursuits.
He also enjoyed refurbishing wood projects, taking great pride in restoring old pieces and giving them new life. Many happy hours were spent relaxing on his front porch or often sitting in his favorite chair with a cup of strong black coffee, reflecting, reading, writing, or enjoying conversations with family and friends. All who knew and loved him knew that he appreciated a good hat.
Scott’s legacy is one of love, wisdom, encouragement, and genuine interest in others. He taught those around him the value of learning, perseverance, and staying connected to the people who matter most. His kindness, humor, and unwavering support will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A Memorial Service celebrating Scott’s life will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at White’s Funeral Home in Weatherford, Texas.
Though Scott is no longer with us, his love, lessons, and influence remain woven into the lives of everyone he encountered. He will be remembered always, cherished forever, and missed beyond measure.
