Que Duane (QD) Edwards Jr., 94, passed away at home in Weatherford on Saturday, February 22nd, 2025.
Services were held Friday, February 28, 2025 followed by burial at Memory Gardens.
Que was born July 27th, 1930 to Que Sr. and Mamie (Briggs) Edwards in San Antonio, Texas. He was raised in Freer, Texas and graduated from Freer High School in 1947. QD attended Texas A&M and North Texas State College where he graduated with a degree in Petroleum Engineering. In 1950, he enlisted in the U. S. Naval Reserve where he served eight years at U. S. Naval Reserve Station Dallas.
QD married the love of his life, Susie Finch, and raised his family in Weatherford where he had multiple businesses including QD Edwards and Company, QD Edwards Oil Inc., the Far West Ranch, and he built the Best Western Santa Fe Inn.
He was a member of the American Society of Petroleum Engineers, the Southwestern Cattle Ranchers Association, the American Quarter Horse Association, and the Northside Baptist Church.
QD is preceded in death by his beautiful wife, Susie; and his son, Que D. Edwards III.
He is survived by his sister, Jane Garrett of Beeville, Texas; daughters, Robin Lewis (Dave) of Kingwood, Texas and Christy Posch of Weatherford; grandsons, Justin Langley, Christian Langley, and Que D. Edwards IV; and granddaughter, Amber Edwards. He leaves behind many good friends including Robert Langley and Dr. Noel Bryan.
