Phillip Wayne Goettel

Phillip Wayne Goettel, 69, passed away Wednesday, November 15, 2017.Please contact the family for memorial service information.Phillip was born January 1, 1948 to Fred and Margene Goettel. He was raised in Russell, Kansas and graduated from Russell High School in 1966. He then enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and served his country proudly for four years.  He began his career as an avionics technician and worked his way up through management. He finally retired as an Air Safety Investigator for Honey Well Aviation Corporation after many years of service.In his spare time, Phillip loved to work and ride motorcycles as well as hunt and fish. He was a family man who loved life and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.Phillip was preceded in death by his father, Fred Goettel, and his son, Brian Wayne Goettel.Survivors: mother, Margene Goettel; sisters, Lynn Rome and husband, Jim, and Rae Matney and husband, Jerry; son, Joseph Allen Goettel; grandchildren, Kelly Goettel, Kevin Goettel, and Shelbi Goettel; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members, and friends.
