Paula K. "Kathy" Henson

Paula Kathryn “Kathy” Henson, 72, passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 in Weatherford.

Memorial Service: 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 29, 2025 at Global Methodist Church, 230 N. Church, Poolville.

Kathy was born December 23, 1952 in Monahans, Texas, daughter of Robert W. and Bobbie (Johnson) Nelson. She graduated from Monahans High School in 1971. Kathy earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Sul Ross State University and then earned her Master’s Degree in Education and Biology from Sul Ross State University.

Kathy owned and operated a retail store in Alpine, Texas, and was a member of the Alpine Chamber of Commerce. She loved working in retail sales. Kathy met Jerry Henson and they were married on March 17, 2005, having just celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary prior to her passing.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Wayne Nelson; her mother, Bobbie Johnson Nelson; and her brother, John David Nelson. Kathy is survived by her husband, Jerry Henson; daughter, Kimberly Wright; grandson, Monty Wright; step-sons, Stephen Henson, and Morgan Henson; brother, Robert Wayne Nelson, II; son-in-law, Alex Wright; and 2-year old Maltese pup, Little Toby Shane, aka Toby.
