Nancy Wiggs Jordan met her Creator at home surrounded by her loving family on the morning of September 14th. She is rejoicing with her Lord and Savior and reunited with her husband and daughter in heaven.
Nancy was born March 15th, 1939, in Weatherford, Texas. She was the only child to Reagan and Marguerite Wiggs. Nancy was a proud member of First Baptist Church from her birth. She was a 1957 graduate of Weatherford High School. While there, she was head cheerleader and a member of the homecoming court. She met the love of her life, Bill Jordan, while attending WHS. Nancy and Bill were married on August 23rd, 1957. They were devoted to one another for 68 years.
Nancy and Bill built a beautiful life and family together in Weatherford, Texas. Nancy considered her life’s purpose to be to raise her three children. Nancy was active in her community in many ways. She taught 4th grade Sunday School at First Baptist for 45 years and led Girl’s in Action, a young girl’s mission group. Her passion was teaching children and young people about Jesus’ love for them. Later in life, she became a Bible Study Fellowship leader at Birchman Baptist in Fort Worth.
Her greatest joy in life came when she became a grandmother in 1985. Her grandchildren gave her what she considered to be her God given purpose on earth. She felt incredibly fortunate to have been a part of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s lives.
Nancy was predeceased by her parents, Reagan and Marguerite; her devoted husband of 68 years, Bill; and her beloved youngest daughter, Jeannie Jordan Dietschy.
