Michael Lynn Cunningham

Michael Lynn Cunningham, 81, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 25, 2026 in Weatherford.

Graveside Service: 10 a.m. Friday, October 30, 2026 at Memory Gardens of the Valley, 5600 Mineral Wells Hwy., Weatherford.

Michael was born on November 26, 1944, in Houston, Texas, to Eugene Forrest Cunningham and Virginia Lykins Cunningham and was raised in McCamey, Texas. He later graduated from high school in Houston. After school, he worked for IMP, helping coordinate men working with generators. Over the years, Michael also proudly served in the United States Air Force as well as the Army Reserve. Later, Michael worked as a security guard for 15 years. He was proud of his Texas roots and service to his country.

Michael loved country-western dancing and especially enjoyed spending time at the Senior Center in Springtown. He was a talented dancer and even taught his wife, Sandra, to waltz. Michael loved people and never met a stranger. He could walk into a room and would seem to know everyone there. He enjoyed visiting, talking, laughing, and making connections wherever he went.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Karen Kay Cunningham; and his brother, Dewaine Gene Cunningham, Sr.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Adkins Cunningham; daughter, Michelle Jones; niece, Deborah Walton; and grandchildren, Chloe and Conner.

Michael will be remembered for his outgoing personality, his service to his country, and the easy way he made friends wherever he went.
