Melba Joyce Sherman, 72, passed away Wednesday, September 18, 2024 in Weatherford.
Graveside Service: 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at Springtown Cemetery in Springtown.
Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, September 23, 2024, at White's Funeral Home Chapel in Springtown.
She was born November 14, 1951 in Springtown, Texas, to Calvin Cash and Minnie Young Cash.
Melba retired from Kroger after 20 + years. She enjoyed crafting and making things such as diaper bears for expectant mothers and fathers and creating wreaths for various occasions throughout the year. At one point, she enjoyed singing gospel music with her family in church as a family group. She was a Christian and well versed in her Bible readings and teachings. She would roll up her sleeves to crawl under houses to fix plumbing or work as a warehouse manager unloading trucks and help with moving heavy things around. Hard work never deterred her stubbornness. If you ever had an argument with Melba, it was because she loved you...you were always wrong, but she loved you.
She enjoyed eating out if it was reasonably priced, expensive restaurants were not her thing. She loved Chinese buffets and she loved thrift shopping and garage sales. She lived her life by her rules and her way.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Robert Charles Sherman.
Melba is survived by her daughter, Angela Henderson and husband Michael; son, Mark Sherman and wife Marcella; three grandchildren, Erica Henderson, Shanen Pressley and husband Stephen, and Marc Sherman. She adored her grandchildren.
