Today, our hearts are heavy as we say goodbye to our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Melba Maureen Spurrier-Geeslin. Born on July 2, 1928, Melba peacefully entered eternal rest on June 13, 2026, at the age of 97. Melba grew up in Breckenridge, TX and moved to Fort Worth at age 18 to study in the Harris Hospital training facility where she gained her Registered nurse certification. She retired after 38 years with Harris Methodist Hospital. Even in the profession she chose her nature of helping others shined through. Melba was a lover of swing dancing which moved over into two step as she aged. Melba was also a world traveler. Before she retired, she traveled to Europe for a two week 4 country tour.
She leaves behind her loving daughter, Paula Fabela, and son, Phillip Geeslin; along with six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren who were blessed by her love, wisdom, and gentle spirit.
Her kindness, strength, and grace touched all who knew her. Though our hearts ache with her absence, we find comfort knowing that her legacy of love will live on through her family and the many lives she touched.
Weep not for me in my time of passing yet know that if even one holds my memory dear
I will be with you always. PDG
