Maudie Jane Barton, 73, passed away Monday, October 9, 2023, in Cleburne, TX. 

Graveside Service: 2;00 p.m., Friday, October 13, 2023 at the Springtown Cemetery, Springtown, TX.

 Visitation: 1:30 - 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 13, 2023 at the Springtown Cemetery prior to the service. 

Maudie Jane Barton, nee Venable, was born in Fort Worth, Texas on August 22, 1950 to Marion Venable and Verma (Davidson) Venable. She loved going outside, wanted to see all the beautiful things God created in nature. She liked drinking a good cup of coffee, curled up in a comfy chair, reading an interesting book, completing puzzles or gardening. Maudie was a loving mother, “Grandma”, great-grandmother and friend, and a nurse who provided many hours of care for people who needed her help. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her sisters and brothers. 

She is survived by her five children, Michelle Pike, Shannon Schmidt, Brenda Kirk, James Pike and Jawi Pike; 8 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Maudie will be missed and remembered by all her relatives and friends who loved and knew her.
