Mary Evelyn Parker

Mary Evelyn Parker, Evelyn to family and friends, 84, passed away Wednesday, October 25, 2023, after a brief hospitalization. Graveside Service: 2 p.m. Thursday, November 2, 2023 at East Greenwood Cemetery, Weatherford. Evelyn was born December 15, 1938 to Walter and Mary Aloisa (Hebert) Phillips. She was widowed by Lee Parker in 2005. Evelyn made her home warm and welcoming to family and friends. She was giving-generous with her time and energy. Her door was always open, there was food (good and plenty!) on the table, and if you needed a place to stay, there was that too! Evelyn’s life was her family. She cared for her mother and her older sister, Lorene, as they aged, her daughter, Teresa, through her many medical issues, and her nephews, Cleetis and Edward for as long as she was able. She made sure everyone had what they needed. She enjoyed playing her records and tapes (Little Richard was a favorite), playing solitaire and Euchre, working in the yard, shopping at outlets with Teresa and Rebecca, sleep-overs with her girls, “fresh” coffee, German Chocolate cake, and King crab. She loved her Char-Lee. She was the last of her siblings to pass – the end of a generation. Evelyn leaves behind her daughters, Teresa and Rebecca, and their husbands, Fred and Don; her baby Char-Lee; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, all are heart-broken. She will be missed deeply and loved forever.
