Mary Louise Harbrecht, age 90, went home to be with the Lord on January 13, 2019. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great great-grandmother. Mass of Christian Burial: 10 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 108 N. W. 4th Avenue, Mineral Wells, Texas 76067. Burial: 11 a.m. Friday at Calvary Hill Cemetery, 3235 Lombardy Lane, Dallas, Texas 75220. Visitation: 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, with Rosary at 6:30 p.m. at White’s Funeral Home, 101 N. E. 4th Avenue, Mineral Wells, Texas 76067. She leaves behind her beloved husband, Henry Leo, and children, Sandra Barnett Shaw of Fort Worth, Texas, Sherry Barnett Reeder and spouse, Forest, of Irving, Texas, Deborah Barnett Perry and spouse, Jay, of Colleyville, Texas, Mary Margaret Barnett Murphy and spouse, Mike, of Lantana, Texas, Vicki Harbrecht Gage and spouse, Jackie, of Ottawa, Kansas, Benjamin Wre Barnett, III of Sunset, Texas, 18 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren. Mary was born July 22, 1928 in Kerrville, daughter of William and Emma Susan Grand McDonnold. She graduated from Tivy High School in 1947 and married her beloved husband, Henry, June 14, 1969. She loved people, especially children. Mary taught kindergarten Sunday School and was a full-time Kindergarten school teacher in Irving, Texas throughout the 1950’s and 1960’s. In 1969 she joined the Catholic Church and later became very involved in teaching children’s CCD classes which she and her students thoroughly enjoyed. Mary’s students would frequently visit her and she always made their day when she gave them a meal, candy or a little gift. She was a giver and shared her generosity with everyone, whether neighbor, stranger or friend. Those who visited her and her husband, never left empty handed! Mary was gifted in many ways. She was a creative cake designer, enjoyed cooking, baking and making canned goods. She also loved gardening, the outdoors and riding her tractor. She was a strong-willed tough lady, and loved to crack a joke and make people laugh! She will be missed by her dedicated, loving husband, six children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.
