Regina was born on November 23, 1948, in Tupelo, Mississippi, daughter of Herbert Glen Monaghan and Mary Audeen Taylor. Regina married James Thomas Blankenship on January 31, 1972, in Alabama. They spent fifty-three wonderful years raising their two sons and enjoying a blessed life together.
Regina’s love for family was larger than life and led her from Mississippi to Texas, where she eventually settled to be near her sons.
Survivors include her sons, Glen (Teresa) Blankenship and JJ (Macy) Blankenship; and her greatest joy—her grandson, Kirby (Robbin) Blankenship; three brothers, Larry (Nancy) Monaghan, Gary (Pam) Monaghan, Dan (Leslie) Monaghan; and her best friend and sister, Dera (Roger) Carter—each of whom she loved deeply and fiercely. Wherever her family was, that’s where her heart was.
And wherever Jimmy was, that’s where she found her stability and comfort.
