Wayne Davee, 97, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend passed away Friday, November 12, 2021 at his home in Weatherford. Funeral Service: 1 p.m. Friday, November 19, 2021 at Central Christian Church, 1602 S. Main, Weatherford. Interment: East Greenwood Cemetery, Weatherford. Visitation: 6 – 8 p.m. Thursday at White’s Funeral Home, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to WISD Education Foundation and Weatherford College Foundation. Wayne was born September 16, 1924 in Weatherford, son of Virgle and Pearl Belle Seela Davee. He graduated from Brady High School, Weatherford College and received a Bachelor’s of Science Degree from Texas Wesleyan University. Wayne earned his Master’s Degree from Texas Christian University and did additional post graduate work at North Texas University. He was drafted into the Army Air Force in April of 1943 and proudly served his Country at the rank of Corporal during World War II until his discharge in January of 1946. Wayne met and later married the love of his life, Mable McDavid, September 9, 1949 in Weatherford and they spent 72 wonderful years together. They were blessed with two children, Janet and David. Wayne held various positions with the Weatherford Independent School District including, Teacher, Elementary Principal, and Assistant Superintendent, serving his students and community for 40 years. He was a life member of Texas Parent Teacher Association, National PTA, Texas Retired Teachers Association, and Texas State Teachers Association. Wayne was a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge, Knights of Pythias and a faithful member of Central Christian Church serving as an Elder, Deacon and Sunday School Teacher, as well as a member of various church committees and boards. He was preceded in death by his parents; and young sisters, Geraline and Valvera Davee. Survivors: Wife, Mable Davee; daughter, Janet Davee and wife, Jeannie Cook; son, David Davee and wife, Paula; grandsons, Harris Davee and wife, Courtney, and Hunter Davee and partner, Catherine Conrad; and many extended family members, friends and former students. The family would like to especially thank caregivers Amanda Robledo and Cindy Romero for their loving care. Also, Beyond Faith Hospice and Bea Dempsey for their support the past nine months.
