Martha Jane Nowak

Martha J. Nowak, 88, beloved wife, mother, Nana and friend was called home Monday, January 17, 2022 at Medical City of Fort Worth. Visitation: 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a Rosary at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at White’s Funeral Home, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford. Mass of Christian Burial: 10 a.m. on Thursday, January 20, 2022 at St. Stephen Catholic Church, 1802 Bethel Road, Weatherford. Interment: Aledo Brown Cemetery in Aledo. Martha was born February 18, 1933 in Strawn, daughter of Joe L. and Victoria Lovera Poydock. She graduated from Strawn High School in 1950. Martha married James R. Nowak on August 26, 1961 in Strawn, and they spent 60 wonderful years together raising their sons, Greg and Scott. She worked in the Aledo ISD for many years. Martha was a faithful member of St. Stephen Catholic Church since 1962 and was very active in the 60 Plus group. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Victoria Poydock; sister, Anita Walton; and daughter-in-law, Laurie Nowak. Martha is survived by her husband, James R. Nowak; sons, Greg Nowak of Aledo, and Scott Nowak of Benbrook; grandsons, Reese and Ethan Nowak; many nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family and friends.
