Martha Cyphers, of Aledo, passed away on Friday, April 18, 2025 at the age of 93.
Graveside Service: 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at Aledo Brown Cemetery, Aledo.
Martha was born March 8, 1932 in Ramona, Oklahoma. She was the second child of five children born to Flora and Sherman Eddings. The family moved to rural Kansas, where she grew up. After she graduated high school, she left home and was soon hired by Boeing Airplane Company where she met her husband, Dean Cyphers. They had their first date in October of 1951 and were married on March 2, 1952. In 1957, they moved to Fort Worth. Their family was complete with the births of a daughter, Lori, and a son, David. Martha was a homemaker for 15 years and the began her career with General Dynamics, where she worked for 15 years.
Martha loved gardening, and she and Dean spent many years square dancing. Lori’s death in 1994, leaving three young sons brought another change to Martha and Dean. Martha loved spending summers and holidays with her grandsons.
Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Dean, after 72 years of marriage; her daughter, Lori; her parents; two brothers, Doug, and Ted; and two sisters, Lila Seglem, and June Woodling.
She is survived by her son, David and his wife, Rebecca; and grandsons, Paul, Sean, and Thomas Cantù.
