She was born on November 16, 1949 in Glendive, Montana to Ted May and Anna Marie Valentine May, and spent much of her early life in Kirkland, Washington. Funeral Service: 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 21, 2023 at White’s Chapel in Springtown. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, January 20, 2023 at White’s Chapel in Springtown. Marcia graduated from Holy Names Academy in Seattle, Washington and attended Yakima (Washington) Valley College. When she was young, opportunity availed to venture to Stuttgart, Germany where her brother was stationed in the military. She worked in the Officer’s Club and was able to travel to Europe. After returning home, Marcia worked miscellaneous jobs before meeting her future husband, Aubre Howell, at the apartment complex in Redmond, Washington, where they both resided. It did not take long for either of them to know they were meant for each other and married October 8, 1977—after knowing each other for only three months. They just completed their 45th wedding anniversary. Soon after their marriage, Marcia took Technical Training and went to work at Boeing Commercial Aircraft Company on the 747. She retained that job before moving to Texas where her husband was employed at Vought Aircraft. In Texas, she went to work for Texas Instruments doing the same type of work she had done at Boeing. After some time, she went to work at Vought Aircraft/Northrup Grumman as a Contract Engineer, where she then retired in 2001. Through the years, Marcia has been able to take many fun trips, often with family and friends. Some of those trips have included St. Maarten, St. Croix, Puerto Vallarta, Cozumel, Las Vegas, Belize, Oahu, Kauai, Maui, Vancouver B.C., and Victoria, B.C. For those who knew Marcia, it was clear that her faith and love of God was always the major driving force in her life. In Texas, she attended Shady Grove Church for 25 years before moving from Arlington to Springtown in 2013. Her church after moving became the Fellowship at Weatherford which she attended until her passing. Over the years, Marcia touched many lives and she will be missed by all who knew her. The past couple of years had been extremely difficult for Marcia as she had been battling ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis), also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease. Symptoms started to appear November 19, 2020, when she spent 2 days in the hospital for testing. For the remainder of 2020 and all of 2021, we visited many different specialists who did additional testing without conclusive indicators of what her problem was, A.L.S. It is very difficult to diagnose and it wasn’t until March 7, 2022 that the disease was confirmed by U.T. Southwestern Medical in Dallas. There is no known cause nor is there a cure for A.L.S. Marcia has been a trooper to endure all the problems A.L.S. has brought with courage and love for those around her. She has relied on her faith and love of God to get her through this ordeal. We can take solace in knowing her pain is gone and she is now in the arms of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior!! Marcia was preceded in death by her parents, Ted May and Anna Marie Valentine May.
